Still Life
Still life photography allows the photographer to capture their images whilst having full control over lighting, mood, and composition. Most still life photograph's are planned out, the photograph's below represent still life photography. The reason still life photography can become so successful is because there isn't any limits - you're able to take images of anything and anywhere. Still life photography allows the photographer to capture whatever they want. Because of this they're able to control every aspect of their photographs, whether it be to use natural light or studio lights.
The objects that they take pictures of can represent many things. For example the picture below on the left is full of make-up - this can be about a person's personality and how they like feel beautiful by wearing make-up. However, their is a photo of a bottle of tomato ketchup - the tomato's in the bottle represent what the product is made out of. On the bottle is say's 'what you see is what you get' this is a perfect representation because the bottle is filled with tomato's. I believe the top middle one is a funny still life picture. The apple seems angry, and rather the knife cutting the apple - the apple bites the knife. With still life some photographer's prefer a blank background - this helps a person concentrate on the objects in the photographs.
The photograph's that I most enjoy on this page is the flower with a ray of sun - it represents hope in a little light. The flower is drawn to the sunlight so it can continue to grow. I also like the stitched up apple - this can represent that broken things can be fixed.
