Analysing Photograph Edits
This is one of my favourite photograph's that I took for my second shoot. I really wanted to capture the unusual - so for this I decided to take a photograph of the orange netting. To really make this the focus of my image I made a background copy, I then used the dodge tool to brighten up the orange as well as the path surrounding it. However, since the image wasn't as bright as I wanted it - I edited the brightness. The exposure tool was the last piece of editing I did - this made the sky much darker - without dulling down the image - everything important in street photography was still shown perfectly. Such as the lights of the street lamps - and the road.
This photograph is taken through the bars I believe it gives the photo a frame of sorts - I really liked this image as it's not what people picture when they think street photography. Before I edited the photograph it was quite dark - so to start off I used the dodge tool to brighten the bars up - as well as the two lights you can see between them. Although, the picture was still too dark and instead of using brightness I went with curve - this was the best editing tool for this picture because it didn't brighten the image up too much. I then used vibrance - even though you can see it doesn't change the image much it really did bring out the colours better - especially by darkening the sky a little. Finally, since vibrance didn't do a lot I used selective colour. This gave the photograph a little edge - as you can tell it's shown street photography through the tint of blue.
For this picture I really wanted to focus of the colours - even though this is night street photography. However, to do this I needed the image to be brighter. So I created a background copy and used the dodge tool on the grass and the glow of the street lamps. Although, I didn't believe it was bright enough - but adding to the brightness tool just seemed to back it to bright. I changed this by using the exposure tool, this helped my photograph as a whole become lighter. Since using the exposure tool I noticed my colour dampened down - so to change this I used the hue saturation - this really brought out my colours - in the road and in the grass. The curve of the road showed street photograph - you can really see cars have been on this road even though there aren't any in the picture. The image is suggestive to of what has happened during the day time.
